YEYS turns 10
Vote for the future! : final report
Metadatos de publicación
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organised civil society in the European Union. It is a place where workers’ organisations, employers’ organisations and other interest groups (professional and community associations, farmers, youth organisations, women’s groups, consumers, environmental campaigners and many more) can contribute to EU decisions. Throughout the year, it also holds events to bring the European institutions and general public closer together. As part of this mission, the EESC wants to hear what young people have to say. Young people are not just... Europe’s future workforce, activists and politicians – they also have a lot of ideas that are valuable right now. Your Europe, Your Say! (YEYS) brings 16- to 18-year-olds from all over Europe to Brussels to put forward proposals on topical issues. Students then vote for the best resolutions and the Committee sends the winning proposals to the European Parliament and the European Commission, while the students get first-hand experience of how EU democracy works, meet EESC members and contribute to the EU’s future.
