Local biofuel production boosts Europe's green future
Sustainably produced biofuels could play an important role in helping the European Union reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and its dependence on foreign oil. By 2020, biofuels should account for at least ten percent of Europe's transport diesel and petrol consumption. This video shows how projects supported by the EU's Intelligent Energy - Europe programme encourage the local production and the greater use of biodiesel in Bulgaria, Ireland and Spain by bringing together farmers, biofuel producers, distributors and users.
