Innovating for growth : proceedings of the seventh European Aeronautics Days, London, 20-22 October 2015
The European Commission and ADS Group Ltd, the UK aerospace industry association, co-organised the Seventh European Aeronautics Days – the AERODAYS 2015 Conference – from 20-23 October 2015 at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth II Centre in central London. This event attracted over 1100 participants from across Europe and further afield. It acted as a positive enabler for industry, governments, the European Commission, research institutions, academia and many others to meet and to present their achievements and strategic perspectives in aviation research and innovation. This three-day conference... included technical sessions, research and technology development showcases and many keynote addresses delivered by European Commissioners, UK Ministers, Heads of key agencies and aviation industry CEOs. The AERODAYS 2015 Post-Conference Proceedings, published by the European Commission, collates the keynote addresses and policy papers on aviation research and innovation as well as more than 80 scientific and technical papers, which have been selected by a Scientific Advisory Committee. It provides aviation managers, researchers and engineers with a wide-ranging overview on research and innovation activities in aeronautics and air transport within Europe, especially those resulting from the European Union’s Research Frameworks Programmes. Current technological advances and future innovations are presented for the main areas of aviation: Greening of aviation ; Seamless and efficient mobility ; Aviation safety ; Competitiveness of aviation industry ; Skills and breakthrough concepts ; National and international research and innovation activities. This book constitutes a reference document on the status of research and innovation in aviation on European level.
