The regions of the European Union
The map shows the regions of Europe based on the 'nomenclature of territorial units for statistics', NUTS for short, at levels 2 and 3 of that nomenclature. NUTS divides up the territory of the EU for the purpose of collecting harmonised data, preparing economic and social analyses, and framing of EU policies, namely EU regional policy.
