DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

of 12 March 2010

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 18/2010 of 1 March 2010 (1).

(2)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1095/2008 of 6 November 2008 amending Regulation (EC) No 109/2007 as regards the terms of the authorisation of the feed additive monensin sodium (Coxidin) (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1096/2008 of 6 November 2008 amending Regulation (EC) No 1356/2004 as regards the terms of the authorisation of the feed additive ‘Elancoban’, belonging to the group of coccidiostats and other medicinal substances (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1253/2008 of 15 December 2008 concerning the authorisation of copper chelate of hydroxy analogue of methionine as a feed additive (4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(5)

This Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

the following indent shall be added in point 1zz (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1356/2004):

‘—

32008 R 1096: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1096/2008 of 6 November 2008 (OJ L 298, 7.11.2008, p. 5).’;

2.

the following indent shall be added in point 1zzzg (Commission Regulation (EC) No 109/2007):

‘—

32008 R 1095: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1095/2008 of 6 November 2008 (OJ L 298, 7.11.2008, p. 3).’;

3.

the following point shall be inserted after point 1zzzzzb (Commission Regulation (EC) No 124/2009):

‘1zzzzzc.

32008 R 1253: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1253/2008 of 15 December 2008 concerning the authorisation of copper chelate of hydroxy analogue of methionine as a feed additive (OJ L 337, 16.12.2008, p. 78).’

Article 2

The text of Regulations (EC) No 1095/2008, (EC) No 1096/2008 and (EC) No 1253/2008, in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 13 March 2010, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (5).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
