The sitting opened at 17.00.
2. Statement by the President
The President gave a statement to mark the International Day of Families. He stressed that Parliament had always striven for a better balance between work and family life and would continue to do so.

3. Approval of the minutes of the previous sittings
The minutes of the sittings of 26 April 2017 and 27 April 2017 were approved.
4. Composition of political groups
Renato Soru would join the S&D Group on 16 May 2017.

6. Negotiations ahead of Parliament's first reading (approval) (Rule 69c of the Rules of Procedure)
The President announced that no requests had been received from Members or a political group or groups reaching at least the medium threshold, concerning the decisions to enter into interinstitutional negotiations announced in the minutes of Wednesday, 26 April 2017(item 7 of the minutes of 26.4.2017).
The TRAN, AFET, DEVE, BUDG and ECON Committees had thus been able to enter into negotiations upon expiry of the deadline laid down in Rule 69(c)(2) of the rules of Procedure.
