DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

No 36/2010

of 12 March 2010

amending Annex XXI (Statistics) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Annex XXI to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 156/2009 of 4 December 2009 (1).

(2)

Regulation (EC) No 1006/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 amending Regulation (EC) No 808/2004 concerning Community statistics on the information society (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1022/2009 of 29 October 2009 amending Regulations (EC) No 1738/2005, (EC) No 698/2006 and (EC) No 377/2008 as regards the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1023/2009 of 29 October 2009 implementing Regulation (EC) No 808/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning Community statistics on the information society (4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(5)

Commission Recommendation 2009/824/EC of 29 October 2009 on the use of the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-08) (5) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Annex XXI to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

the following indent shall be added in point 28 (Regulation (EC) No 808/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘—

32009 R 1006: Regulation (EC) No 1006/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 September 2009 (OJ L 286, 31.10.2009, p. 31).’;

2.

the following shall be added in the first indent of point 18db (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1738/2005) and in points 18f (Commission Regulation (EC) No 698/2006) and 18an (Commission Regulation (EC) No 377/2008):

‘, as amended by:

—

2009 R 1022: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1022/2009 of 29 October 2009 (OJ L 283, 30.10.2009, p. 3).’

3.

the following point shall be inserted after point 28d (Commission Regulation (EC) No 960/2008):

‘28e.

32009 R 1023: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1023/2009 of 29 October 2009 implementing Regulation (EC) No 808/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning Community statistics on the information society (OJ L 283, 30.10.2009, p. 5).’

4.

the following shall be inserted after point 18z (Regulation (EC) No 1338/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘ACTS OF WHICH THE CONTRACTING PARTIES SHALL TAKE NOTE

The Contracting Parties shall take note of the content of the following act:

18za.

32009 H 0824: Commission Recommendation 2009/824/EC of 29 October 2009 on the use of the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-08) (OJ L 292, 10.11.2009, p. 31).’

Article 2

The texts of Regulations (EC) No 1006/2009, (EC) No 1022/2009 and (EC) No 1023/2009 and of Recommendation 2009/824/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 13 March 2010, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (6).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
