DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

of 27 April 2007

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 142/2006 of 8 December 2006 (1).

(2)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1284/2006 of 29 August 2006 concerning the permanent authorisations of certain additives in feedingstuffs (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1443/2006 of 29 September 2006 concerning the permanent authorisations of certain additives in feedingstuffs and an authorisation for 10 years for a coccidiostat (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1444/2006 of 29 September 2006 concerning the authorisation of Bacillus subtilis C-3102 (Calsporin) as a feed additive (4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(5)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1445/2006 of 29 September 2006 amending Regulation (EC) No 1200/2005 as regards the authorisation of the feed additive ‘Bacillus cereus var. toyoi’, belonging to the group of micro-organisms (5) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(6)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1446/2006 of 29 September 2006 concerning the authorisation of Enterococcus faecium (Biomin IMB52) as a feed additive (6) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(7)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1447/2006 of 29 September 2006 concerning the authorisation of a new use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Biosaf SC 47) as a feed additive (7) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(8)

Commission Directive 2006/77/EC of 29 September 2006 amending Annex I to Directive 2002/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards maximum levels for organochlorine compounds in animal feed (8) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

the following points shall be inserted after point 1zzw (Commission Regulation (EC) No 773/2006):

the following shall be added in point 1zzm (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1200/2005):

3.

the following indent shall be added in point 33 (Directive 2002/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council):

Article 2

The texts of Regulations (EC) No 1284/2006, (EC) No 1443/2006, (EC) No 1444/2006, (EC) No 1445/2006, (EC) No 1446/2006 and (EC) No 1447/2006 and Directive 2006/77/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 28 April 2007, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (9).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
