DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

amending Annex XXI (Statistics) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

Annex XXI to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 33/2004 of 19 March 2004 (1).

(2)

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1668/2003 of 1 September 2003 implementing Council Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 58/97 with regard to the technical format for the transmission of the structural business statistics and amending Commission Regulation No 2702/98 concerning the technical format for the transmission of structural business statistics (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

The Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Annex XXI to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

The following indent shall be added in point 1c (Commission Regulation (EC) No 2702/98):

‘—

32003 R 1668: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1668/2003 of 1 September 2003 (OJ L 244, 29.9.2003, p. 32).’

2.

The following point shall be inserted after point 1g (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1228/1999):

‘1h.

32003 R 1668: Commission Regulation (EC) No 1668/2003 of 1 September 2003 implementing Council Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 58/97 with regard to the technical format for the transmission of the structural business statistics and amending Commission Regulation No 2702/98 concerning the technical format for the transmission of structural business statistics (OJ L 244, 29.9.2003, p. 32).

The provisions of the Regulation shall, for the purposes of the present Agreement, be read with the following adaptation:

This Regulation shall not apply to Liechtenstein.’

Article 2

The texts of Regulation (EC) No 1668/2003 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 24 April 2004, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*1).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
