The Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) is the only periodical published every working day in all official languages of the European Union (EU). It consists of two related series (L for legislation and C for information and notices) and a supplement (S for public procurement). There is also an electronic section to the C series, known as the OJ C E. Documents published in the OJ C E are only published electronically.
OJ L and C series
In addition, the Directory of Community legislation in force is published as part of the OJ Lseries. This directory lists references to the initial texts and to any subsequent amendments. It also includes references to agreements made and conventions signed by the European Union in the framework of external relations, binding acts under the EU Treaties, complementary acts, such as those of the Council of Ministers and Heads of State or Government, and other non-binding acts which are relevant for the institutions.
The CE series currently contains the preparatory acts in the legislative process and is only available in the EUR-Lex database or in the monthly CD-ROM edition.
OJ S
The S series is the supplement to the OJ containing invitations to tender in the following sectors:
L and C series - Choose the format that suits you
You can take out an annual subscription (700–800 issues) or order individual copies. If you start a subscription during the course of a calendar year, you can either pay pro rata for the remaining months of the annual subscription or receive all back issues on CD-ROM at a supplementary cost.
For subscriptions or single copies, please contact our sales network . Certain specialised annexes are available to subscribers on request at no extra charge.
The CD-ROM edition offers a convenient archive of information published in the OJ Land C series. It also includes OJ CE material, not published in the paper edition.
The CD-ROM, derived from the EUR-Lex service, is a monthly, cumulative, monolingual edition. It contains the OJ table of contents in HTML format and the OJ contents in PDF format. Via the CD-ROM, you can search for any OJ L, C or CE text published in the year to date, whether stored on the CD-ROM or more recently on the Internet site. The annual collection includes all the OJ issues for a given year.
