The S series is the supplement to the OJ containing invitations to tender in the following sectors:

• public contracts for works, supplies and services from all EU Member States;
• utilities contracts (water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors);
• public contracts from EU institutions;
• external aid and European Development Fund contracts (ACP countries);
• Phare, Tacis and other contracts from central and eastern Europe;
• European Investment Bank (EIB), European Central Bank (ECB) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) financed projects;
• European Economic Area contracts (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein);
• contracts pursuant to the Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA), concluded within the framework of the GATT/World Trade Organization (WTO) from Switzerland;
• notices concerning European economic interest groups (EEIGs), European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation European Company and insurance undertakings — concerning their constitution and liquidation;
• public contracts for air services.

DVD-ROM / OJS

The DVD-ROM edition is published once a week and carries more than 7 500 notices published from Tuesday to Saturday, about half of which correspond to new invitations to tender. As a cumulative and multilingual edition, it contains the last five issues of the OJ S and the corresponding hyperlinks to the website of TED, the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. Consulting the notices online provides additional information, e.g. information on notices related to the ones published here (family notices).

The DVD-ROM contains a table of contents of all notices included (file 'index.pdf') listed by day, then by language, and finally by business opportunity. A search index is provided to search for the notices of the DVD-ROM.

The DVD-ROM edition can be obtained by annual subscription. Single copies are also available against payment.

System requirements

The notices are provided as PDF files which can be read using Adobe Acrobat© Reader©. The most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader can be freely downloaded from the site of Adobe Systems Incorporated (http://www.adobe.com).

Online database

A daily updated online edition is available in the TED  database. Access to TED is free of charge.

In addition to current tenders, the TED database gives access to the archives for the past five years of the S series. Its search interface allows the user to select or to enter multiple search criteria, including geographical data, type of document, nature of contract, keywords and more.

TED licensed products and services — Licence holders

Notices from TED are also available under licence from third parties. The licence holder may deliver the licensed information as a product or a service.

Advantages of a licence service:

• access in bulk to data, provided directly by the Publications Office,
• no limit to the number of daily extractions,
• the notices are available via e-mail and/or FTP in XML and UTF-8 format, for a better handling of the data.
• the notices are accessible for the licence holder from 4 a.m. (Central European Time) on the day of their official publication by the Publications Office
• the licence holder is automatically authorised to reproduce TED data.
