Welcome to the Publications Office

The Publications Office of the European Union (Publications Office) is an interinstitutional office whose task is to publish the publications of the institutions of the European Communities and the European Union (see Euratom Decision No 2009/496/EC).

Moreover, the Publications Office offers a number of online services giving free access to information on EU law (EUR-Lex), EU publications (EU Bookshop), public procurement (TED), and EU research and development (CORDIS).

The main challenge our planet faces today is the impact of climate change – a global threat with many different faces. As economist and political advisor on climate change, Jeremy Rifkin, explains, regional development is crucial in this context because it is here that the funding is spent. We interview Rifkin to hear more of his ideas on what needs to be done to curb the discharge of emissions and how the third industrial revolution based on distributed and not centralised generation, needs to get under way if we are to stand a chance of keeping emissions down to a safe level.

Final date for receipt of requests for documents: 23.11.2009 / Final date for receipt of tenders: 30.11.2009 - Production of monthly DVD-ROMs containing the compilation of series L and C of the Official Journal of the European Union and other documents. The services will comprise the development and incorporation of application software, the upgrading maintenance, packaging and delivery. Thematic DVD-ROMs will also be produced at the Publications Office´s request, on an irregular basis. (23.10.09)

Final date for receipt of requests for documents: 24.11.2009 / Final date for receipt of tenders: 30.11.2009 - Provision of scanning and/or OCR/ICR services and the possible creation therefrom of digitial archives and digital libraries. (23.10.09)
> EU Bookshop Digital Library goes live
The EU Bookshop Digital Library was officially launched at the Frankfurt Book Fair on 16 October. It offers all publications ever edited by the Publications Office on behalf of the EU institutions, agencies and other bodies since 1952. Thanks to a vast scanning project of 12 mio pages – in other words, 4 km of shelves treated, 65 tons of paper moved and 7 000 carton boxes packed and unpacked - these publications are now accessible to all, free of charge, in about 50 languages, all in one place. Final date for receipt of requests for documents: 06.11.2009 - Final date for receipt of tenders: 12.11.2009 / The services comprise basic services and, if necessary depending on requirements, additional services in the field of: structural, partitioning, false ceiling, joinery and locksmithery, floor covering, wallpapering and painting, electrical, and HVAC and plumbing works.
