The Interinstitutional style guide can be reused without any payment or written licence for commercial and non-commercial purposes provided the source is acknowledged and under the following conditions.

When reuse involves a translation of the Interinstitutional style guide or parts of it into languages other than the language editions officially published by the Publications Office, or modifications to the data or text, this must be stated clearly to the end-user of the information. A disclaimer regarding the non-responsibility of the Publications Office should be included.

Personal data protection

The European Union is committed to user privacy.

The policy on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the EU institutions and bodies is based on Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ L 8, 12.1.2001, p. 1).

When you send an e-mail message to one of the Interinstitutional style guide functional mailboxes, your personal data is collected only to the extent necessary to reply. If the management team of the mailbox is unable to answer your question, it will forward your e-mail to another service. You will be informed, via e-mail, about which service your question has been forwarded to.

If you have any questions or complaints about the processing of your e-mail and related personal data, do not hesitate to include them in your message.

Questions or complaints in case of conflict may be addressed to the European Commission’s Data Protection Officer or the European Data Protection Supervisor.
